Infographic: Is texting killing our writing skills?

In this day and age, we do not call people anymore. We just text them.

And when we text, we shorten words. Communication is limited to a minimum.

Just like grammar.  A dying institution, it seems — especially among children, teens and young adults.

Here is an interesting infographic on the topic created by OnlineCollege.org.

Cendrine, I LOVE This infograph! The grahpics and the points are just marvelous! I pinned it and shared it before commenting. You are correct about writing skills – NOT the same with texting. Sometimes I find myself emailing like a text and then realize what I’ve done before I hit send.

      Hello Lisa,

I’m glad you like the infographic. I think it’s awesome too.

I catch myself doing the same as you sometimes. It’s funny how the brain works, isn’t it?

That’s an interesting infographic. I remember when I used to write for my college exams I many a times tend to use the short forms..It so much becomes a part of our daily lives as most of the time we are texting people. I completely agree that proper grammar skills are very important, afterall language is not only about texting in short forms..
