Social Media – A History: Infographic (updated)

A few months ago, I published an infographic that revisited some of the many stepping stones in the history of social media.

Of course, things change fast, and the infographic had to be updated. So here it is, for you. I hope you enjoy it.

Many thanks to Karim Benyagoub (@karim_designs) for his awesome work! He is talented, isn’t he? ;-)

I totally agree with this infographic. Social media has evolved a lot and with the internet connection and mobile phones more affordable these days, subscribers are more and more increasing.

Wow! Interesting to know that the first email went out even before I was born ;)
Impressive to also know Facebook has almost half the Internet population. However, that means 3.6 B people are not yet connected to the Internet going by the fact that the world has about 6b people.

Actually, there are more than 7 billion people now.

I find those numbers mind-boggling, to be honest!
