I love Microsoft Outlook and have used it as my central communications hub for years.
A few months ago, I started noticing a lot of duplicate content in my Inbox. At first, I thought it was a glitch. But then the hassle of having to spend all that extra time deleting messages became quite annoying. So, I contacted my web host (BlueHost), which did not find anything wrong.
About two weeks ago, I remembered that I had forwarded all my email addresses to Gmail right before leaving for a trip last year. So, since the messages from these forwarded addresses are also set up to land separately in my Inbox, duplication made a lot of sense.
My old laptop can be rebellious at times. As a result, I often end up using my notebook, which does not have Microsoft Outlook installed. Disabling forwarding was certainly not a good idea.
I figured that the issue probably came from Microsoft Outlook. So, I decided to check the settings.
Good news! I found the solution!
Here is what I did:
Steps 1 and 2
Steps 3, 4 and 5
Steps 6 and 7
I have not received a duplicate email since then!
I hope this little tutorial will help you. In case you still have issues with duplicate emails, check out this article.
