What makes a person influential? Is it commitment, hard work, professionalism or something else?
Influencers always plan ahead and take nothing for granted. They know that success takes time. As such, they are not scared of doing their due diligence, making mistakes and learning from them.
Forget the numbers. Forget quantity. Real influence is measured by the way others look up to you — no matter how big or small your circle is.
If you want to become influential, let your actions and hard work speak for themselves. Because at the end of the day, they are what people will use to judge you. The rest does not matter.
All influential people know how to move others, how to speak directly to them. They have learnt to master the communication ropes.
Serious entrepreneurs know that their success and influence in their fields depend on partnerships and reciprocity. Returning favors helps create bonds between people, and ultimately, lasting relationships.
#Twitter: Where 40% of users spam, 5% share/interact & 55% are social media experts
— Sharon Hayes (@SharonHayes) February 20, 2011
This tweet is one of my all-time favorites. Why? Because it sums up why social media is still frowned upon by so many. Social media is too broad and too new of a concept to have real experts.
An influencer is usually modest about their achievements. They never stop learning. Basically, they keep an eye on their ego all the time.
So, how do you become influential? The answer is simple. Be the best you can be at all times. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. And should you make mistakes, be willing to acknowledge them.
