Want to get unfollowed on social networks? Try this!

I keep repeating it. Your success in social media (and elsewhere) depends on your hard work, commitment, patience — and most importantly on how caring and respectful you are towards your audience.

I follow a lot of Fan Pages on Facebook and spend some time every day observing how they connect with their followers. Sometimes, I catch an update that really bothers me.

The one below is particularly disturbing. I unliked the page instantly. It was not the first time that this entrepreneur used a derogatory tone when addressing their audience.

It is ok to want to vent. We all have bad days. However, you have to do it sensibly.

Never tell your followers that they desperately need your help because they clearly suck at something.

You should be in business because you care about the world around you. Not because you need to toot your own horns.
