9 free social media monitoring tools

Do you know what people say about your brand? Do you know what they think of you?

Social media may still be very young, yet millions of net surfers use them at any given time of the day or night to connect with the world, and share their thoughts, comments, pictures, videos, etc. Companies striving for success must keep abreast of this content in order to engage with present and potential customers in a meaningful way.

The great news is that the Internet is full of free tools that can help make social media monitoring very easy. Check out the list below.

TweetDeck and Hootsuite: These two tools let you easily set up columns in your dashboards to monitor specific keywords.

Google Alerts: Google Alerts is a service that automatically notifies subscribers when new content from several sources (news, web, blogs, video…) matches queried keywords.

Social Mention: Social Mention lets you aggregate user generated content into a single (and very thorough) stream of information.

Topsy: Topsy is a real-time search engine that examines popular links as well as the influence of each person sharing a link.

Threadsy: With Threadsy, you can see your email, social networks and twitter in one place.

Addict-o-matic: Addict-o-matic is a service that searches Websites for the latest news, blog posts, videos and images.

Twazzup: Twazzup searches Twitter for relevant news and information.

–Facebook Search: When you type a keyword in Facebook search, a list of automatic results appears. Click “See more results for…” at the bottom. Results will be displayed on the page in the following order: All Results, Post by Friends and Bing Web results.

Now, are you ready to learn what people say about your brand?
