5 ideas to brand yourself with Paper.li

Paper.li

Two weeks ago, Liz Wilson, one of the editors at Paper.li, contacted me for an interview. We emailed each other back and forth and I ended up writing a guest article for the Paper.li Community blog as well.

I feel honored to have be chosen to add my contribution to the website. Paper.li has always been one of my content curation tools, so this is an awesome recognition for me.

Here is an extract from my guest post. The interview should be available on May 14, so stay tuned!

Of all the strategies and techniques I have used to increase visibility of my personal brand, content curation has been one of the most effective — and most fun to use.

Content curation helps you know and serve your audience better. By filtering the huge amount of information available online and sharing only the best and most relevant content with people in your niche, you save them time, meet their needs and answer their questions, while establishing your expertise in ways that only a blog can do.

There are many content curation tools out there, but only a few that deliver like Paper.li does. By curating the content automatically for you, based on the keywords of your choice, the service opens the door to higher brand visibility.

In this article, I will share five ways you can use Paper.li to boost your credibility and attract the right audience for your website, blog, products and services.

Paper.li as a monitoring tool

I mainly use Paper.li to monitor “conversations” on specific topics. Every day, I check out my papers and the ones to which I am subscribed. I click and read the articles, leave comments on the blogs (and always include the link to mine), and then I share the content with my networks.

Bloggers and readers alike often respond to my comments. They also check out my website and blog as a result.

Paper.li as a personal hub

Is your content spread across social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Google+) and/or different blogs? If so, why not centralize everything and create your own hub on Paper.li?

Your newspaper will give people access to your content in one easy spot. They can then share it on social networks and subscribe to it with the click of a mouse.

Of course, this will not replace an email newsletter. However, this is a complementary way to reach people where they find it the most comfortable to read, watch and listen to you. I actually recommend those who do not have a blog or website to give it a try.
